Fidesz: Nem ünnepeljük meg Magyarország uniós csatlakozásának 20 éves évfordulóját
A magyar kormány nem szervez ünnepséget az ország uniós csatlakozásának 20. évfordulóján, vélhetően azért, mert a kegyelmi botrány kirobbanása óta másra fókuszál.
Magyarország 2004. május 1-je óta az Európai Unió teljes jogú tagja, és hamarosan kezdődik a magyar EU-elnökség is.
Május 1-jén lesz 20 éve, hogy Magyarország csatlakozott az Európai Unióhoz, ám a Szabad Európa szerdán azt írta, hogy a kormány nem szervez központi ünnepséget a jeles évfordulóra.
A lap információi szerint ennek az az oka, hogy lekerült a fókusz az uniós diplomáciáról, ugyanis a kormány a kegyelmi botrány kirobbanása óta „csak a kármentéssel foglalkozik”. Az ügyben keresték az Európai Uniós Ügyek Minisztériumát és a Miniszterelnökséget is, de egyelőre nem válaszoltak.
A Szabad Európa emlékeztetett arra is, hogy március 15-én Orbán Viktor miniszterelnök arról is beszélt a Nemzeti Múzeumnál, hogy ha a magyarok meg akarják őrizni az ország szabadságát és szuverenitását, el kell foglalniuk Brüsszelt, és hogy
mi magunk fogjuk megcsinálni a változást az Európai Unióban. Nem vagyunk már csikók, mégiscsak 1100 éves állam volnánk, tapasztaltak és ütésállók, tudjuk, melyik kapun masírozzunk be, és hogyan rendezzük át az Európai Uniót. Itt az ideje, hogy a helytartótanács Brüsszelben is reszketni méltóztassék.
A Fidesz pártalapítványának brüsszeli rendezvényén egy héttel később pedig azt mondta, hogy az Európai Unióban a progresszív liberálisok a szuverenitás felszámolására, a nemzeti hatáskörök minél teljesebb elvételére és a közösség politikai diktátumokkal történő irányítására törekednek.
