A kínai Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) a magyar sajtóban először az Economxnak beszélt hosszabban a debreceni terveiről, ugyanakkor a környezetvédelmi aggályokra vonatkozó kérdéseinket – mondjuk úgy – nem bontotta ki az összes részletében. Pásztor Szabolcs, az NKE docense, az Oeconomus kutatási igazgatója ezt a jelenséget korábban lapunknak úgy ábrázolta, hogy
a kínai vállalatokra jellemző, hogy igyekeznek kiismerni az szabályozói környezetet, az adott ország jogszabályait, és addig mennek el a tevékenységükkel, ameddig csak lehet. Ha a sztenderdek, a munkajogi szabályozások, a környezetvédelmi normák nagyon szigorúak, akkor természetesen azokat betartják. Ám ahol korrupció van, ahol lazábbak a szabályok, és nincs akkora transzparencia, ott ők is alkalmazkodnak ehhez a környezethez
