„Menjenek a sivatagba, építsenek ott akkumulátorgyárakat, ne itt, ahol lakosok vannak!” – mondta egy tárnoki férfi szerda este a Heinrich Antal Házban, ahol lakossági fórumot tartottak a település közelében épülő akkumulátorfeldolgozó üzem miatt. Az ott élők attól tartanak, hogy a gyár megmérgezi a levegőt, a vizet, a talajt, a kutak és patakok pedig kiszáradnak. Több felszólaló szerint a megoldás az lehetne, ha megváltoztatnák a helyi építési szabályzatot, és megtiltanák, hogy veszélyes hulladékkal foglalkozó gyár épülhessen oda.
Lukács László, Tárnok független polgármestere a fórum elején azt mondta: a rendezvényre meghívták a beruházó, a szlovén tulajdonú Andrada képviselőit is, de a cég elutasította a meghívást. A település vezetője bejelentette, hogy sikerült megszerezniük az Alsózsolcán (ahova eredetileg tervezték a gyárat) élő civilektől egy dokumentumot, amiből az is kiderül, hogy az akkufeldolgozóban zárt rendszerben dolgoznák fel az akkumulátorgyártás során keletkezett hulladékot.
Lukács László szerint a legfelháborítóbb az egészben az, hogy a mai napig nem tisztázott, hogy valóban azt a gyárat akarják-e a település határában üzemeltetni, amit Alsózsolcáról elzavartak.
„Mi csak ezt feltételezzük innen-onnan csöpögtetett információkból” – mondta a polgármester, majd hozzátette: a feldolgozó azért sem lenne veszélytelen, mert az egykori Orion gyár épülete nem alkalmas arra, hogy akkumulátor-feldolgozóként üzemeljen.
