Német kancellár: Oroszország fejezze be az ukrajnai háborút, ha nem akar nagy hatótávolságú amerikai rakétákat Németországba
Olaf Scholz német kancellár a nyári sajtótájékoztatóján Berlinben azt mondta:
„Az első dolog, amit Oroszországnak meg kellene tennie, megállítani ezt a szörnyű agressziós háborút Ukrajnával szemben, és fel kell hagynia az ország egészének meghódítására irányuló törekvésével.”
A kancellár egyben a saját, szociáldemokrata pártjából érkező bírálatokkal szemben is védelmébe vette az amerikai fegyverrendszerek telepítését: a döntés azt szolgálja, hogy „ne legyen háború”.
„Szükségünk van elrettentési képességekre azon felül, amivel már rendelkezünk, például manőverező robotrepülőgépek formájában, mégpedig nagy hatótávolságú, hagyományos hatóeszközökre is”
– mondta.
Scholz azt mondta:
„Mind azt kívánjuk, hogy ismét egy olyan világban élhessünk, ahol nagy jelentősége van a fegyverkorlátozásoknak, most viszont arról van szó, hogy biztonságunkat a szükséges elrettentés által is szavatoljuk éppen azért, hogy ne legyen háború.”
Felhozta, hogy Oroszország is fegyvereket telepített a NATO tőszomszédságába, jelentős „mindaz, ami Kalinyingrádban és a NATO keleti határának túloldalán, Oroszországban lett telepítve”.
„Ezek olyan dolgok, amiket nem szabad figyelmen kívül hagyni, és ezért szükség van az elrettentés lehetőségére”
– mondta.
Az USA a hidegháború óta először akar újra olyan fegyverrendszereket telepíteni Németországba, amik elérhetik Oroszország területét. Erről Berlin és Washington július 10-én állapodott meg. Moszkva Berlintől légvonalban kb. 1600 km-re van. Az Egyesült Államok a tervek szerint 2026-tól Tomahawk típusú manőverező robotrepülőgépeket, SM-6 légvédelmi rakétarendszereket és új fejlesztésű hiperszonikus fegyvereket telepít a NATO-szövetségesei védelmére.
