A WHO bejelentette a koronavírus-világjárvány terjedése miatt elveszett évek számát: több mint 336 millió életévet vett el a pandémia az emberiségtől.
A koronavírus-járvány összesen mintegy 336 millió évvel rövidítette meg az emberi életeket a világon az Egészségügyi Világszervezet (WHO) legújabb statisztikai évkönyve szerint.
A számítás szerint a koronavírus csupán 2020-ban és 2021-ben regisztrált 14,9 millió halálos áldozata átlagosan még további 22 évet élehetett volna.
Ez összesen 336,8 millió évnek felelne meg.

Más fertőzések kezelését is visszafogta a globális kórság
A WHO megállapítja azt is, hogy a világjárvány akadályozta a más fertőző betegségek elleni globális küzdelmet, mivel kapacitásokat foglalt le az oltási folyamat és az egészségügyi szolgáltatás rendszerében.
- A Covid-19 kezelésére összpontosító nemzetközi kampány következtében a kanyaró, a tetanusz és más betegségek elleni védőoltások száma csökkent,
- míg a malária és a tuberkulózis esetében a szám növekedést mutatott.
