Rossz hír az EU-nak: Azonnal le kell állítani egy izraeli gázmezőt!
A döntés csökkenti a gázpiacok lehetőségét arra, hogy más előre nem látható eseményeket – például a hideg téli időjárást vagy más ellátási zavarokat – kezelni tudjanak – értékelték a Goldman Sachs elemzői azt a hírt, miszerint a Hamász brutális támadása miatt a Tamar földgázmezőt le kell állítani.
A Chevron a napokban azt közölte, hogy a helyi hatóságok kérésére leállította az Izrael partjainál lévő földgázmező kitermelését, azt követően, hogy a Hamász fegyveresei brutális támadást indítottak.
Az amerikai vállalat szerint az Izrael déli partjaitól 15 mérföldre (kicsit több mint 24 kilométerre) fekvő Tamar mező Izrael energiatermelési szükségletének 70 százalékát fedezi.

Pont a kínálati oldallal van a baj
A leállás a szomszédos országokba, Egyiptomba és Jordániába irányuló gázexport csökkenéséhez vezethet, illetve tovább szűkíti az amúgy is szűkös globális gázpiacnak a kínálati oldalát.
A Chevron egyelőre továbbra is a nagyobb, Leviatán nevű mezőről kitermelt gázzal látja el Izraelt és a környéket – bár számos kérdés merült fel ezzel kapcsolatban is.
A Tamar bezárására éppen akkor kerül sor, amikor a tél közeledik és jelentősen nő a földgáz iránti kereslet. Bár az árak még messze elmaradnak a tavaly ilyenkor mért szintektől, a Wood Mackenzie energetikai tanácsadó cég elemzői a péntek óta tartó áremelkedést elsősorban a háborús konfliktusnak tulajdonítják.
A Goldman Sachs elemzői szerint a Tamar leállása hozzájárult az európai gázárak emelkedéséhez:
